CARROLLTON – Emilio Harry Ippolito, 82, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, May 23, 2013, surrounded by family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Harry was the son of the late Mary Rizzo and Joseph V. Ippolito. Harry had lived in the Hampton Roads are for the past fifty years and most recently in Surry and Carrollton. He attended Bacon’s Castle Baptist Church. Harry was a veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He retired from civil service after many years. He was a life-member and active member of the VFW and the local chapter, Post 8545, and was the past commander (2002). Harry was also a member of the American Legion. A beloved husband and devoted father, grandfather, and great -grandfather, Harry will be remembered for the countless hours he spent with his grandchildren. Harry always had an opinion on everything and readily shared it. He was generous and kind-hearted. In pastime, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and yard-work and was a chocoholic.
